十八岁的黄飞鸿自幼跟随父亲习武，与梁宽建立“飞鸿帮”，年轻气盛的黄飞鸿在佛山行侠仗义，却也因此与人交恶。父亲黄麒英“劝学”，送他去佛山的官办学堂兴中馆读书。然而黄飞鸿又遇“冤家”，一场恶战终惹祸上身。黄父替其揽下罪名，凛然入狱。此事令黄飞鸿痛下决心，以习武之韧，努力读书，争取赴广州考试的机会。黄飞鸿等一帮学子们充满希望地迎接广州会考，却想不到最后的考场竟然成为战场......。Young people use music to express their new awareness of life and generational opposition to their parents, as well as to protest the social and political climate in East Germany.
